Z Rock, the new comedy on the Independent Film Channel, debuted in a big way, Sunday night at 10:30 CDT.
Loosely based on the true-life adventures of a band from Brooklyn, Z Rock is the story of brothers Paul and David Zablidowsky and their good friend Joey Cassata, who play in the metal band "Z02", which has opened for Kiss.
However, to make ends meet, they also perform at children's birthday parties and bar mitzvahs as "The Z Brothers".
While the stories are fictionalized, many of the situations occurred in real life.
The dialog is not scripted, and the band members do a good job with the ad-libs.
The regular cast members are talented and the guest stars were great, especially Greg Giraldo and Joan Rivers.
The scenes in the bar seemed very true-to-life, to someone who has spent some time there.
I am looking forward to the next installment next week.
